A Real Life Park Session

Last week I got invited to tag-a-long with the Manalu family while they hung out at the park and went on a walk...which happens to be one of their favorite things to do! I loved watching how much they enjoy each other and capturing a bit of what it looks like when they are busy loving one another.

There are many reason why I do not do posed family photography, but the biggest reason is that I would miss out on capturing those moments that I would never want to forget. The best stuff just isn't posed. But maybe that is just me. :)

Manalus, I love you guys, and I can't wait to be there for the birth of your baby boy next month!! I am so excited.

And for those of you who don't know, all outdoor shoots are in both color and black and white...because even I understand that sometimes a moment just screams to be in color.

Here are a few of my favorite portraits:

An Adoption Journey Begins

I'd like to introduce you to our baby's birth mom, the lovely Petra. Petra came to us several months ago and asked if we would be willing to adopt her yet unborn child. Our answer was a resounding, "Yes!" After seven years of waiting, it seems we will finally know what it is like to have a newborn baby! There are simply no words to adequately describe what an amazing gift Petra is giving us by choosing us to adopt her child.

We are documenting this adoption process through our photos. Recently, we did a mini photo shoot with Petra, and we had a blast. It is amazing how much you can love a little life you have never even met. We can't wait to meet this baby! We are down to the last month before the due date.

Thank you, Petra, for being willing and for being so amazingly selfless throughout this process; we love you. :)

Heather and Kevin: Maternity

I recently got to do a fun maternity shoot with soon-to-be-parents Heather and Kevin. They are expecting their first child, a boy, next month. The miracle of pregnancy never ceases to amaze me! It was wonderful to see their mutual love for their baby boy.

Heather and Kevin, I look forward to meeting this little bundle of joy ex-utero and snuggling him thoroughly! Enjoy your pictures.
