Georgia's Birth Story

A couple of weeks ago I had the honor of capturing the delightful birth story of one beautiful little girl, Georgia Mae. Georgia makes the second child for Keely and Steve and their first little girl. Georgia entered this world after Keely underwent a scheduled c-section. Keely's sister Courtney is a nurse and was there to help Keely through the whole process. How awesome is that? Keely, you were a rockstar. You did such an incredible job helping bring Georgia into this world, and even more amazingly, you looked great doing it!

Steve was right there to support his lovely bride. And Courtney did a fantastic job handling all of the nursing duties and helping her sister throughout the whole process. Right after Georgia's birth, big brother Aiden and Keely's grandparents came to help welcome her into the world as well.

It was beautiful, amazing, and inspiring. Thanks, Keely and Steve, for allowing me to be a part of your daughter's birth story. Enjoy!

Ovidah's Birth Story

Watching a baby be born is hands down one of the most incredible experiences this life has to offer. Something marvelous happens at a birth. You get to meet a living, breathing masterpiece entering this world in its very first moments. Words fall horribly short of describing it. Well, at least my words do. ;)

It was truly an honor to be present for Ovidah's birth. Crystal did such a great job through the very difficult birthing process, and Agus was such a sweet help to her as well. Both Crystal's twin sister Jaci and her mom Sue proved excellent coaches, encouraging her on toward the finish line. I was moved to watch as Agus prayed for his bride and Sue sang songs of praise in the midst of Crystal's greatest bouts of pain (at Crystal's request :) ). It made for a triumphant entry for little Ovidah. If you were still, you knew that rejoicing was happening in places beyond our sight. I could not help but shed a few tears of marvel and joy.

My job was to capture some of the moments as the story unfolded, a beautiful story indeed. Crystal and Agus, congratulations on your precious and darling baby girl. Enjoy your photos and your slideshow. (Warning: the slideshow is a bit long :))

And for those of you who might be interested in having your child's birth story captured, drop me an email to get the details on a super exciting limited time offer.

Day 110: Ovidah is Born

Ovidah Lyn

Over the last 12 hours I had the distinct pleasure of capturing baby Ovidah's birth story. It was simply amazing. Crystal did such a fantastic job with her labor, and Agus did a great job supporting her throughout the journey. Crystal's sister Jaci, her grandparents, and her parents were all there at different points to help her through it too. Don't you just love supportive families? The end result was a healthy baby girl weighing in at just 6lbs 1oz and measuring 18 inches long. Isn't she beautiful?

Crystal and Agus, thank you for allowing me to be a part of such a beautiful event. Enjoy your precious gift.

Annastacia's Birth Story

Petra, the birth mother of Annastacia, the baby we will be adopting, went into labor last week. Her water broke early in the morning, and she went to the hospital. They checked her and sent her home with instructions to return after dinner if labor hadn't started yet. Petra called us to let us know she was returning to the hospital later that evening.

Crystal had agreed to be one of Petra's birth coaches and had been attending lamaze classes with Petra, so I dropped her off at the hospital. Petra had a few contractions through the night, so the nursing staff started administering drugs to speed things along. I joined the ladies at the hospital the next morning just as the nurses were starting a Pitocin drip. Over the next few hours, the contractions grew more and more intense. I got kicked out of the room when things got really serious. A couple of hours later, my niece came to the waiting room to announce that I had a baby girl!

Crystal documented the labor and delivery process, and I took pictures of the new baby after her arrival. The captions on the pictures tell the story in more detail.
