Anna Eating Sweet Potatoes

Anna simply amazes me. Even though she has been running a mild fever while cutting two front teeth, she has remained so very sweet and happy. So, today when she started to sound super congested and was randomly grabbing her ear, we thought we should take her in to her pediatrician just to make sure she didn't have an ear infection. Nope; it turns out she just has allergies. Poor baby; I hate seeing her struggle. Tonight I made her some of her favorite food, sweet potatoes. She found the idea of Daddy feeding her a bit amusing. Of course, so did I, but I didn't show it. ;) How she can manage to smile when she doesn't feel good amazes me; I adore her.

Emily Working a Puzzle

Emily decided today to master the art of puzzles. I was truly impressed with her mad skills, and so was she. ;) As I watched her take the puzzle apart and put it back together over and over I noticed what it said. Pooh was always wise, huh? Some say happiness is a state of mind. I think I have to agree; we really do get to decide so much, and our happiness is one of the choices we make. Today, I choose to be happy.

Emily Hugging Daddy

Sundays are usually filled with a whole lot of relaxation. Today after going to church, working naps, and doing a bit of grocery shopping; we took a nice long walk in the park. Of course, we cannot go to the park and not allow Emily some serious play time. As she was running around like a chicken with no head, Anna was quite content on the swing. In the middle of it all Emily decided to run up to her Daddy for a quick hug. Click! Yeah, I dig those sort of moments. :) Of course, there are also the moments not captured like today when Anna lifted up my shirt for the rest of the park inhabitants to see. No, things are never dull.

Package

Is it silly that I like to wrap things up and make things pretty? I remember when I was little I would wrap up my toys just so I would be able to make them "prettier' and then have the pleasure of unwrapping them. (Of course, it is better if there is some element of surprise.) :) There is just something so fun about wrapping things beautifully. I do think it can be over done though. The idea is to present something in a pretty way, but the wrapping should not be cooler then the gift inside—that would just be disappointing. I mean the good stuff is supposed to be in the wrapping, right?

Well, I have been playing with different ways to package print orders and books for our awesome clients, and I just can't decide what I like best. I like simple and sweet, and I am learning that there are countless ways to achieve that. But regardless of the packaging, make no mistake; the good stuff is definitely in the packaging! ;)

Ariana

Today was kind of a big day: remembering September 11th, Anna turning 9 months, and a super busy and fun photoshoot. Man, I am wiped. Many times when I do photo shoots I bring along my trusty assistant, my daughter Ariana. Ariana has been learning about photography for a while now, and she does a great job helping me out. Today we had a few minutes to spare, so I was playing with the light a bit and making Ariana my test subject for the moment. Isn't she just adorable? Yeah, I pretty much figure that I have the cutest photography assistant on the planet. ;)
